Such words as horticulture and gardening are synonyms because they mean the same activity and the same sphere. It is necessary to have real desire to work in such sphere, it is necessary to have special skills, which can allow you to work with plants and flowers. There are people who can grow amazing flowers from some weak sprout. There are people who cannot grow any flower from hundreds of strong sprouts. In such case if a student wants to create career on the sphere of horticulture, it is necessary to support these students. At the state of Iowa, students who like such activity as gardening can get help in form of scholarship. It is called the ISU Linn County Extension Master Gardeners Scholarship. Such scholarship can be received if a student is a resident of Linn County and attends any high school at this county and if such student wants to study horticulture at one of colleges and universities of Iowa.
It is one year scholarship in amount of $1 000. In order to receive it, it is necessary to be officially enrolled at one of Iowa colleges or universities. First half of this scholarship is paid in the beginning of first semester; the second part is paid in the beginning of second semester.
